I want to make an art webpage. What is the cheapest and best site hosting?

January 5th, 2009

I used Yahoo! Site builder, but it had too many extra features. I don’t want a deviant art page or whatever, but a www.myname.com type of site where people can just view my resume and art work.

What are some cheap, efficient site hosts where I can easily put together a webpage? Thanks :)
I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European web hosting companies, currently hosting over 500 000 websites. They have plans starting from $1.45/month. Every plan includes a beautiful Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out. The price including a .com domain name and the setup fee is just $3.75/month.

you can purchase a domain here for around $7: http://1and1.com
but you’ll have to code the site yourself.

    You can try http://www.own-free-website.com

No coding required, here’s a simple site I made with it.

What do you mean “too many extra features”? I’ve never heard anyone complain about getting extra features. You don’t have to put those features on ur website.

I use geocities to make my own online resume

and if you don’t like the long name, there are tons of free domain like http://www.freedomain.co.nr/

    look, same website, different name

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
One of these services is reachable at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . Their service is really great and easy to use. This company offers “Free Site Builder” that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get).
